TUVRheinland

Following its original ISO certification in 2008, Southern Mapping was recertified in February 2011 and 2014 and acquired the status of ISO 9001-2008. The company specialises in aerial surveying, Lidar, Hyperspectral remote sensing, Ortho-imagery, Satellite imagery and Geographic Information Systems.

HART Aviation

HART Aviation advises corporations, governments and airport owners/managers on aviation technical and commercial issues, to help them minimise and efficiently manage their exposure to aviation risk.

HART Aviation provides a broad range of aviation related services. In summary, these include the development of aviation safety policies, conduct of aircraft operator audits, airfield and helipad inspections, drafting and review of aviation tenders, investigation of incidents and accidents, advising on geophysical survey flying, helicopter offshore support and external load work and other specialist flying.

Institute of Mine Surveyors

The primary objectives of the Institute are to advance the science and practice of mine surveying and allied disciplines, to promote and protect the character and interests of the profession of mine surveying and to foster professional etiquette. (Professional Code of Conduct).

The Institute of Mine Surveyors is also actively involved with the education and training of mine surveyors and is affiliated to the International Society for Mine Surveying  (ISM) and the South African Council for Professional and Technical Surveyors  (PLATO)  which is our registration body.

South African Geomatics Institute

SAGI is a voluntary organization for registered persons working in land surveying, engineering surveying, town planning, photogrammetry, remote sensing, geographical information systems (GIS) & land management.

Surveyors have been around since the earliest recorded times and undertook small to large scale projects, some with the most extreme engineering of its day. SAGI epitomizes this most noble profession and its constantly evolving dynamics in the industry and we hope that you will find what you are looking for, be it a surveyor or just general information about what surveyors do. South African surveyors are recognized the world over as being of the highest standard, a trait we continue through our SAGI activities and membership requirements. All SAGI members are committed to providing a good professional service and we welcome your input.

PLATO

The PLATO Council is an elected committee of members. The Registrar is based in the PLATO Office and co-ordinates all the office and council functions.

All qualified Professional Surveyors, Technologist Surveyors, Technician Surveyors and GISc Practitioners have to be registered with the South African Council for Professional and Technical Surveyors (PLATO).

All Southern Mapping surveyors belong to this council.

The South African Electrotechnical Export Council

The South African Electrotechnical Export Council (SAEEC) is a not for gain organisation established as a Public Private Partnership between South African business and the Department of Trade and Industry to facilitate the export growth and internationalisation of its members.

Southern Mapping is part of a group of South African registered companies that are manufacturers and providers of products and related services from the Electrotechnical sector namely: Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Information Technology and Telecommunications.

The Council was established in 1991 and reports to a Board of Directors drawn from its members. It provides an important platform on which to coordinate the export marketing efforts of the sector as well as being an official conduit to government to enhance strategies and policies to improve the export support environment.
